Åre all year round

Åre is no longer just a winter resort. Here you can enjoy adventures and experiences all year round.

Åre in the summer

When the snow melts away, a whole new mountain opens up. Åre Valley offers loads of adventure, both for you who seek tranquillity in the nature and you who like more of adrenalin rush in sports. Regardless of what you want to do, we are located up here at the tree line overlooking the whole of Åre Valley – actually as a base camp deluxe.

Among things you can do there are hiking, trail running, fishing, biking, kayak paddling, paragliding and horseback riding. If you want to go sightseeing we recommend Fröå Mine, the aerial tramway to the top of Åreskutan or a trip to Tännforsen, which is the highest waterfall in Sweden.

Åre in the winter

Most people come to Åre for the skiing – and rightfully so. It is one of the best in Sweden. Still, there are so many other things to do than just skiing. You can take a walk in the centre of Åre Village, have a bite in some of the better taverns in Sweden, explore the local delicacies, go shopping or listen to some of the well-known artists performing. There is also cross-country skiing, dog sled tours, snow scooter safaris, snowshoe walking and ice racing on frozen lakes.

Åre for children

Åre Mountain is maybe Sweden’s biggest playground – both summer and winter. In the winter, there is of course much focus on skiing, and with Skistar’s many child friendly areas there is a lot to do. The summer too offers lots of playing, fun and games. Anything from trekking, swimming, kayak paddling, zip-line riding and downhill or cross-country biking. We have big functional family suites where the children can have a room for themselves, and in our hotel there are playrooms, billiard, select hours at the spa, and PlayStation in all our rooms. During school holidays, our popular activity club CopperKids is open, fully loaded with creativity, new friends and lots of fun.

Åre for pet owners

Åre is perfect also for your four-legged friend. We have rooms where you, for an extra fee, can bring your pet. Just tell us when you make your reservation. Here you can even sit by our big fireplace with your dog, and have a cup of coffee if you wish. If your dog wants some time off from your time off, we can help you to contact one of Åre’s dog kennels.

If you want a planned activity, we collaborate with our skilled event planners down in the village. Contact the reception and we will help you with tips and reservations.
